Kingston (Jamaica): Jun 30, 2013
West Indies host world No 1 India in the second match of the triangular series at Jamaica’s Sabina Park. The hosts are coming into the match on the back of a comprehensive win against Sri Lanka, while India enter the match as the champions of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
Two years ago, after India had won their first World Cup in 28 years, the team had toured the Caribbean as champions for a short series, thus making it a kind of déjà vu this time around. However, that line-up was missing nine players from the victorious World Cup squad, whereas this time around, India have brought an unchanged squad to the Caribbean Isles from England.
The West Indies have won the toss and have elected to field first. Regular captain Dwayne Bravo is sitting out due to a groin injury; Kieron Pollard has filled in as skipper. Ravi Rampaul too has a niggle and misses out, to Tino Best’s gain.
India, unsurprisingly, are playing an unchanged eleven to the one that won the Champions Trophy.
