Good Afternoon! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage of the South Africa Tri-series. This is the second match of the tournament and India A will face Afghanistan A at CBC Old Boys Cricket Club, Pretoria. I am Krunal Gandhi and I will bring to you all the live scores and updates from the match. India A have played one match in the tournament, losing it to the hosts while Afghanistan will play their first match on Friday. Afghanistan are playing in the tournament as a result of Australia A pulling out of it due to the recent pay-dispute issue between Cricket Australia and the players. India A, led by talented Manish Pandey, collapsed for a paltry 152 in their first match. The batting failed terribly, with only the skipper scoring a commendable 55-run knock. He could not find any help at the other end as the hosts bowlers were at their best. Aaron Phangiso picked up a 4-for and ran through the batting along with Dwayne Pretorious, who picked up 3 wickets in the match. However, their chase was not very easy, as the Indian pacers struck early. Later, spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (3 for 41) and Akshar Patel (2 for 35) helped the team put up some fight but the total looked too low to be defended.
This tournament comes across as a big opportunity to Afghanistan who have impressed one and all with their performance lately. They have been given Test status by ICC, and this tournament will help them form a strong bench.
