After Australia’s narrow victory over Sri Lanka in the first warm up, both Bangladesh and Pakistan will be aware of the challenges and try to be at their best from the unofficial games only. “We are ranked sixth, it is a pleasure for us, and the team is very happy with that. We want to move on from here and want to go as far as we can in the world. This tournament is going to be hard for us, playing a group that is very hard in the conditions, but on your day, you can do anything, we have quality players who can change the game. We’ll have to play as a team as we have been doing so far. There are expectations, once you play for your country there is always pressure. I think in this tournament, it is not going to be easy, so we have to concentrate on our own game. We want to play the way we have played over the past two years and execute our skills well”, Bangladesh’s captain Mashrafe Mortaza was quoted as saying by ANI ahead of Saturday’s clash versus Pakistan.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s limited-overs skipper, Sarfraz Ahmed stated, “Over the past one-and-a-half years, Bangladesh has performed very well. The warm-up game is a good opportunity for both teams before the Champions Trophy. Both teams want to win so it’s a good practice match to have. Over the past few years they’ve done well and we’ll see its batsmen, like Tamim Iqbal, if we play in the semi-finals”, the wicketkeeper-batsman was quoted by ANI.
