Hello and warm welcome to the live cricket blog of the warm-up match between India and Bangladesh at The Oval, ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. With two days to go for the event, this game holds a lot of importance for several reasons. It does not depend whether they are warm-up matches or main draws: India’s matches catches eyeballs around the world. Only India’s warm-up matches are broadcast live. Also, India and Bangladesh have enjoyed healthy rivalry off late and both nations comprise of the most passionate fans. This is the last warm-up game for the tournament as it begins on June 1 with hosts England taking on Bangladesh at The Oval. The game becomes further more important for Bangladesh as they will be facing the hosts at the very ground. Indian cricket have lately been in the news for mostly wrong reasons. Their participation in Champions Trophy was doubtful to begin with; then captain Virat Kohli became vocal about the rise of payment for Indian cricketers; and now, reports of players being unhappy with head coach Anil Kumble have made rounds. India will want to put the controversies behind and continue their winning run as they enter the tournament as defending champions. They won their first warm-up game at the same venue against New Zealand in a rain-effected tie comfortably. The camp has received a significant boost with Rohit Sharma’s arrival in England. He is expected to open batting with Shikhar Dhawan.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have plenty to prove. They are an improved limited-overs unit but they have not been able to cross the big hurdles in ICC tournaments. With experienced players like Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim in their ranks, they pose threat to most opposing teams. While India started their warm-up campaign with a win, Bangladesh failed to defend 341 against a not-so-strong Pakistan, which is a matter of concern. Can they reverse the tide against India?

It must be remembered that all 15 players in the squad can take a part in the warm-up round, but only 11 can bowl and bat.
