Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates post of the match No. 35. We move to the battle of the west as Gujarat Lions (GL) and Mumbai Indians (MI) lock horns in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. The match will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Ground in Rajkot. I am Pramod Ananth and I will bring you the live cricket scores and updates from the game. This is a crucial game for the Gujarat franchise, who were dominating the league stages last year. With 5 losses from 8 games, they need to win at least 5 from their remaining 6 to ensure a playoff spot. In their bid for the same, a win here will be necessary. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Gujarat Lions (GL) vs Mumbai Indians (MI), IPL 10, Match 35

To their advantage, this will be a home game for them and Rajkot as a venue has been a high scoring one. GL have a strong batting line-up with the likes of skipper Suresh Raina, Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch in excellent form. They are coming off a comprehensive win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday, a game where there bowlers stood up to the occasion and that is the encouraging part. GL beat MI on both occasions in the last season but lost their previous encounter at Mumbai. However, they still hold a 2:1 advantage. Andrew Tye is in a very good form and there is a slight chance that their new recruit Irfan Pathan will get a game.

MI, who were cruising at the No.1 spot in the table for a while, have been now replaced by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). MI are still at the No.2 spot and with another win they will look forward to inch closer to the playoffs. MI lost their last game against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) by 3 runs. They will be sweating over Krunal Pandya’s fitness as the all-rounder adds multiple dimensions to the side. Ambati Rayudu meanwhile has recovered from his groin injury and it will be interesting to see if MI add their stalwart to the XI.

MI are the more balanced outfit. Their bowling has clicked and their explosive batting has won them games. All eyes will be on Harbhajan Singh, who has dismissed Raina 5 times in IPL.
