Hello, good evening and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates post for the Match No. 30 in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, between the rejuvenated Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This is Aditya Sahay, and I will be bringing you the live cricket scores and updates of the clash between RPS and KKR. Although KKR did not portray the best of the batting display against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), their bowling have been top-class with the overseas troops rising to the occasion. As for the bowlers, pacers like Chris Woakes, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Colin de Grandhomme have bolstered their options. Full Cricket Scorecard, Rising Pune Supergiant vs Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2017, Match 30

However, the match-winner of the previous game, Coulter-Nile is rested for the RPS clash to ensure he remains fit for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, RPS will be aiming to improve their Net Run Rate of -0.627 as they are placed at the fourth spot in the IPL 10 points table and the heat is intensifying for the race to the final four with every passing game. However, RPS batsmen will have to fire in tandem, which has not been the case so far. Rahul Tripathi has been the most consistent batsman alongwith Ajinkya Rahane, while Steven Smith have got the starts but the big scores have eluded him. Stokes might have shown credibility with ball but is yet to achieve consistency. The same can be said for MS Dhoni, who failed with the bat in their previous match.

Rising Pune Supergiant’s bowlers, however, have covered up in absence of Ravichandran Ashwin. Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat and now Washington Sundar along with Dan Christian are moving in tandem at the right time. The next six days could make or break the RPS campaign, unless they carry forward the momentum built from their three-match winning streak.

As for the overall head-to-head records, KKR are ahead winning both home and away matches. RPS will look to draw level with KKR, especially with both teams looking to consolidate their position in the IPL 10 points table.
