The ICC World T20 2014 kicks off with hosts Bangladesh taking on Afghanistan at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. This is the fifth edition of the T20 World Cup and the hosts have a good opportunity to make an impression. However, they have to beat Afghanistan to have a good chance as that will in all likelihood guarantee them a spot in the quarter final. On the other hand, Afghanistan would be confident as they had a very good game against the hosts during the recent Asia Cup 2014.

Hong Kong and Nepal are the other two teams in this group. Thus, it makes the Afghanistan-Bangladesh contest even more important as the winner would seal his spot. Beating the other two sides isn’t too difficult. Firstly, Bangladesh are a Test playing nation and Afghanistan are a cut above the rest in the associate nations.
