India have made a brilliant comeback in the ODIs after getting thrashed 1-3 in the Tests earlier in the tour. After the first match at Bristol got washed out, India won the next three games by margins of 133 runs (D/L method), six and nine wickets respectively. The most impressive part about the visitor’s spirited performance is the fact they have fired in all the departments. Batsmen such as Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan have found their old touch with the bat, while the bowling unit, especially the spin department, has been making merry on supportive pitches.
For England skipper Alastair Cook, the joy of the majestic Tests series win has been short-lived, with the criticisms starting to creep in from all corners. The batting and bowling departments have both failed to fire in any match in the series so far, with the team’s highest total being 227 so far.
