JP Duminy and Dean Elgar have scored brilliant centuries and set a first innings total of 455 for the loss of 9 wickets. The visitors have so far looked comfortable with Elgar, Du Plessis and De Kock playing brilliant knocks. Even Morne Morkel played well for his standards, and gave Duminy good support after Tea on Day 2.

The Sri Lankan players toiled on the second day with Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera bowling the bulk of the overs. Perera took four wickets including those of Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis.

On Day 3, South Africa will look to take some early wickets to put Sri Lanka under pressure. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan batsman will look to spend as much time as possible on the crease. It’ll be exciting to see Mahela Jayawardene bat, who has a brilliant record at Galle. The bowling of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel will come under scrutiny and it’ll be interesting to see if they can wield their magic on the dry Sri Lankan wickets.
