Bangladesh will face West Indies in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series at St. George’s today (20 August). The visitors have had a forgettable year, and they have failed to impress in Asia Cup as well as World Cup T20, both of which were held in their home soil. West Indies too will have a lot to prove, as they recently lost a Test series at home to New Zealand.
The Caribbean has been a happy hunting ground for the Bangla tigers, as on their previous tour in 2009, they had beaten the hosts in both ODIs and Tests. However, the visitors will miss the services of Shakib Al Hasan who has been banned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
