With their reputation in tatters after two humiliating defeats, injury-ravaged India face an arduous task to retain their number one status when they go into the third cricket Test against England here on Wednesday.
India will have the services of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir for this Test match but will miss pace spearhead Zaheer Khan.
England skipper Andrew Strauss won the toss and chose to bat against India in the third Test played at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Wednesday.
England are leading the four mach Test series 2-0 and victory in this match will give them the No. 1 ranking. For India its’ a must win match as a draw will ensure the hosts win the series.
