Sri Lanka lost to South Africa in the first Test match at Galle. Sri Lanka’s form in the longer format of the game has been very good in recent times. However, they suffered a shock loss in the previous match, with South African pacer Dale Steyn grabbing nine for 99 in the match. Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara would dearly like to avenge the defeat. Catch live blog of the match here.

For South Africa, Hashim Amla got off to a terrific start as the new captain in place of Graeme Smith, who has retired from the game. The pace trio of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander will be key to the Proteas.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s bowling line-up depends largely on spinner Rangana Herath, the slow left-arm orthodox. The track at Colombo is usually good for batting, and Jayawardene loves the ground. He has 10 centuries at Colombo, the most by any batsman at any ground.
