Mahela Jayawardene was given a Guard of Honour by the Pakistan team as he walked out to bat in his final Test on his home ground Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo on Friday. Playing his 149th and final Test, Jayawardene walked out to bat with a rousing reception from the spectators.
Jayawardene has started his same Test on the same day as legend Don Bradman did. However, Bradman was dismissed for a duck but Jayawardene got off the mark comfortably. August 14 is certainly a memorable date in cricket history as Sachin tendulkar too got his first Test ton on this day back in 1990 against England at old Trafford.
