While KL Rahul was busy dismantling the Delhi bowlers en route to his fastest Indian T20 league fifty (14 deliveries), his opening partner Mayank Agarwal was enjoying the best show from the other end. Considering the in-form Rahul looked unstoppable, Mayank was happy playing second fiddle and kept rotating the strike as much as possible. Post-match, Mayank could not stop praising Rahul’s knock that guided Punjab to their first win in the tournament.

“It was tremendous the way he was batting and striking the ball. I think, he was in the zone. It was amazing to see such good hitting and cricketing strokes from the other end,” Mayank said.

Mayank equally heaped praise on Karun Nair who anchored the innings in the middle overs. Nair, too, slammed his ninth Indian T20 league fifty: “It was a very important knock by Karun. He anchored the innings and chances he took were calculative. The plan is to be positive and go out with aggressive mindset and take whatever comes from there.”

It was followed by David Miller (24*) and Marcus Stoinis (22*) show to complete the six-wicket win against Delhi. This was Delhi’s sixth consecutive opening match loss in Indian T20 league.
