Virat Kohli is currently ranked second in the ICC player ranking in Test. Kohli scored 153 in the first innings at Centurion. India, however, lost the match and conceded the Freedom series. Kohli has been in exceptional touch in recent years and has scoring runs in every format in nearly every match. According to reports in Mumbai Mirror, Michael Holding says Kohli is a fantastic batsman, but also added that he wants to see him score runs in England.

Virat Kohli is a fantastic batsman

“Virat Kohli is a fantastic batsman. I was asked to name three top cricketers and I included Kohli in that list,” Holding said. “He is a very, very good player. When I see him score runs in England, I would call him a great player. I like people who score runs everywhere. He is an extremely good player.”

“The three cricketers I think are the best now are Joe Root, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. AB de Villiers has just come back into Test cricket and let’s see how he does. I don’t want to include him yet in that list,” Holding concluded.

Steven Smith was the top run scorer in Ashes. Joe Root failed to perform in Ashes but has been in good touch in the ODI series.
