South Africa Women captain Mignon du Preez was unbeaten on 89, and had formed a decent 72-run partnership with Trisha Chetty at Lunch on Day 3 of the only Test match. South Africa Women had reached 179 for four, and were still trailing by 221 runs in response to India’s total of 400.

For India, Thirush Kamini and Poonam Raut had come good with the bat and scored centuries. Kamini was extremely close to getting her double hundred too, but was dismissed on 192.

Except for Sunette Loubser’s three quick wickets that rattled a settled India Women batting order, this has been a game where bowlers from both sides haven’t made merry.

Brief scores:

India Women 400 for 6 (Thirush Kamini 192, Poonam Raut 130; Sunette Loubser 3 for 90) lead South Africa Women 179 for 4 (Nadine Moodley 40, Mignon du Preez 89*; Rajeshwari Gayakwad 2 for 35) by 221 runs
