Australia‘s tearaway pacer Mitchell Johnson has been instructed by coach Darren Lehmann to show no mercy against minnows Zimbabwe in the upcoming tri-series which also involves Test Cricket’s newly ranked No 1 side, South Africa. The feiry left-armer returns to the Australian camp after Johnson last featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he represented Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and failed to replicate his heroics against England and South Africa earlier in the year, a Cricket Australia report said.
The other left-armer Mitchell, Mitchell Starc is expected to bowl in tandem with Johnson and Lehmann expects him to make quite an impact too. Comparing the pace duo, Lehmann said, “They swing the ball. One is very fast and the other is fast, so they’ll play. They got it through the boys (on Saturday), which is always nice to see. I don’t think our batters enjoy it though sometimes.”Australia will be playing Zimbabwe in the tournament’s curtain-raiser in Harare.
