Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson on Friday, admitted that although he wants to get back to playing the longer format for his national team, his focus right now is in limited-overs cricket.
After picking up two for 31 against England at Rose Bowl, Johnson said, “I’d love to get back playing Test match cricket and get playing in the next Ashes series. I’d love to win an Ashes… but at the moment my focus is the shorter form.”
According to an Australian Associated Press report in the Sydney Morning Herald, the left-arm pacer was happy with his current bowling form.
“My progress after my toe injury has been exactly how I want it to be and I’ve felt like my bowling is exactly how I want it to be now,” Johnson said.
“I’m bowling with good pace, when the conditions are right I can swing the ball and bowl that good short ball again,” he added.
“To be able to to do that tonight, to put a bit of fear hopefully in their eyes, that’s why I want to play,” he concluded.
