India Women’s team captain, Mithali Raj was the highest-placed Indian batter at seventh, while Jhulan Goswami was the best-placed bowler at 12th in the latest ICC women’s cricket Twenty20 rankings, issued on Friday.

The Indian eves will lock horns with Sri Lanka in a three-match T20 series, starting from January 25 in Visakhapatnam.

Apart from Raj, Poonam Raut in tenth spot is the only other batter from India in the top 10.

Just outside the top 10, Harmanpreet Kaur in 11th, is the only other player in the top 20 likely to feature in the series.

Outside the top 20 in the bowlers’ list, Ekta Bisht is placed 25th.

Seven of the 10 women’s teams scheduled to take part in the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh will be seen in action in a series of Twenty20 Internationals over the next fortnight.

A total of 13 matches featuring Australia, England, India, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa will be played in a tri-series in Doha, Qatar from January 19.

For some of the teams, this will be a final tune-up before the start of the ICC World Twenty20 due to be played in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6.
