The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have enjoyed one long party on the field in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 7, with four wins in five games, but  on Thursday, they enjoyed a party off the field. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his homecoming by hosting a party for the members of the CSK set-up including the support staff and managers on . The official CSK Twitter account carried pictures of the revelry.

 

The CSK wicketkeeper, who was born and brought up in Ranchi, will be playing his first game at home in the IPL. This year, Ranchi serves as one of the home grounds for the Chennai Super Kings. There will be two matches held in Dhoni’s birthplace. CSK take on a struggling Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match of the Indian leg of IPL 7.

 

Dhoni last played a match for Chennai in Ranchi during the 2013 Champions League T20 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where he went on a six-hitting rampage, plundering a whirlwind 63 off just 19 deliveries with eight sixes.

 

 

Skipper MS Dhoni and wife Sakshi were the gracious hosts of the Chennai side that hosted players like Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith, Ravichandran Ashwin and Matt Henry, among others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Apparently Ravi Ashwin is as adept at playing with smaller racquets as he is with bigger bats.
