PV Sindhu, the first Indian woman to win an Olympics silver medal (in badminton singles, at Rio de Janeiro 2016), was in attendance during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 last evening, at Uppal, Hyderabad. Sindhu, also from Hyderabad, was seen cheering for the home side well before the start of play. She took some time off and talked to IPLT20.com about her connection with cricket, and similarities between badminton and cricket.

Sindhu claimed that both MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will make great doubles partners from the Indian side. Sindhu mentioned that she follows cricket during her off time from badminton. Talking about IPL, Sindhu said that she will always support Sunrisers, no matter what, and wished them luck for the remaining of the season. While comparing between badminton and cricket, Sindhu said that the racket speed is very similar to that of the bat speed.
