MS Dhoni was the brand ambassador for real estate Amrapali group who has allegedly not paid him  INR 150 crores. According to reports in Economic times, Dhoni has sued Amrapali group for not paying his dues for years. It is reported that the firm is caught in a financial crisis and has left many housing projects incomplete in many cities. Dhoni was the brand ambassador of Amrapali Group for the past 6-7 years.

Rhiti Sports that manages Dhoni, KL Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumanr and Faf du Plessis has filed a recovery suit in the Delhi High Court against Amrapali. “They haven’t given us money for branding and marketing activities,” the ET report quoted Arun Pandey, managing director of Rhiti Sports. He further added that the firm owes close to Rs 200 crore.

It was in April 2016 when Dhoni resigned from the role of brand ambassador after being trolled on social media by residents who were angry by unfinished work. The residents had tagged him in their tweets, asking him to either dissociate himself from the builder or make sure that they complete the pending work.

According to reports, Amrapali group had announced of gifting players villas for their victory in ICC World Cup 2011. The independent villa in Amrapali Dream Valley Project at Noida worth INR 9 crore were reportedly never gifted or built.
