Delhi handed an opportunity to young Mujeeb Zadran from Afghanistan and what an impression he created on his very first match. Just on his third ball, Zadran picked the big wicket of New Zealand’s Colin Munro. The all-rounder was trapped by Zadran for 4. In the process he became the youngest player in the Indian T20 league to scalp a wicket on debut (17 years and 11 days). He tops the list followed by Pradeep Sangwan (17 years, 181 days) and Washington Sundar (17 years, 201 days).

Zadran was purchased by Punjab for INR 4 crores. He holds the record of the first 21st-century-born to play international cricket, and youngest to take a five-wicket haul for Afghanistan. Along with Rashid Khan, Mujeeb has formed a dangerous leg-spin combination for Afghanistan. Will he follow the footsteps of Rashid?
