# Ravichandran Ashwin (3/30) recorded his best bowling figures in the IPL 2014.

# Ashwin has claimed 73 wickets at 22.32 in 73 matches in the IPL under MS Dhoni‘s captaincy, equalling Albie Morkel‘s tally of 73 (ave.27.14) under Dhoni in 75 games. They share a record for most wickets under one skipper in the IPL.

# Overall, Morkel (76) and Ashwin (74) are the leading wicket-takers for Chennai in the IPL.

# Chennai Super Kings have won eight and lost nine out of 17 played vs Mumbai Indians — success % 47.05. In the present competition, they have won seven and lost two out of nine contested.

# Mumbai have won two and lost six out of eight contested in the IPL 2014. After ten wins in a row between April 9, 2013 and May 6, 2014, Mumbai Indians have lost their first IPL match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

# Smith became the first batsman to record five fifties in the IPL 2014. His tally of 396 (ve.44.00) in nine innings is the second highest by a batsman in the IPL 2014, next only to Glenn Maxwell‘s 460.

# Brendon McCullum‘s aggregate of 327 (ave.40.87) is the third highest by a batsman in the IPL 2014.

# David Warner and Faf de Plessis, with eight catches each, are the top fielders in the IPL 2014.
