Indian batsmen Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara continued their partnership post lunch to take India past 100 on Day One of the second Test against South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban. Vjay is batting on 42 while Pujara is on 34.
Vijay in particular has shaped his innings beautifully. He was patient at the start while Shikhar Dhawan was going after the bowlers and later started to open up playing his strokes. Vijay was in full flow towards lunch where he took his chances against lefty-arm spinner Robin Peterson. India went in to lunch at 76 for one.
Post the break, Vijay hit consecutive boundaries in a Vernon Philander over, one was a straight drive and the other timed through the covers.
