After letting everyone feel his absence in the Indian cricket administration for a brief period, N Srinivasan is back in action once again as he has charged Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar of not acting ethically. Shashank Manohar, after stepping into the shoes of International Cricket Council (ICC)’s chairmanship, has undone all the policies taken up by the previous governing body of the organisation saying that those would not change the scenario and rather worsen it. Now Srinivasan has asked for justifications of Manohar’s actions pointing out the fact that the chairman has taken decisions single-handedly which is not right. According to Srinivasan, the previous decisions were taken up with approval of the other board members and to reform them, the new man in power must seek approval of the same committee which he did not do. Another fact that the experienced man magnified is the fact that BCCI has gained enough profit following the introduction of the policies, precisely “hegemony in world cricket and esnured Rs 3800-crore income in eight years” and to change them is a big decision that needs consent of the others. Srinivasan sent out a letter to the BCCI affiliates via Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) which has all these aspects mentioned.

Though Srinivasan was absent to comment on the matter, TNCA secretary Kassi Viswanathan opened up to Mumbai Mirror, “It was a TNCA executive committee decision to write to the board. When the ICC reforms were taken up, approval of the working committee was taken. This time around, working committee has not been consulted. We have come to know through the media that the ICC reforms have been undone. We have asked if it is right and if so on what basis.”

Apart from the previously mentioned facts, the other questions that the letter has in it are regarding the BCCI chairmanship, permanent membership of BCCI in ICC working panel and 22 per cent share of the ICC revenue.
