Born on October 20, 1966, Navjot Singh Sidhu the former Indian batsman turned 51 today. Nicknamed ‘Sheri’, Sidhu is famous for his attacking batsmanship. He played his cricket 1980′s and 1990′s. During those days he was a nightmare for the opposition bowlers, specially spinners.
Sidhu made his Test debut against West Indies at Ahmedabad. His One-day International (ODI) debut was against Australia in Chennai in 1987 World Cup and made four fifties in his first four ODIs. Sidhu averaged 42.13 in Tests and 37.08 in ODIs. He was the first Indian to score five ODI hundreds.

After ending his cricket career, Sidhu joined politics. He is currently a Member of Parliament (MP). Apart from this, one can often find the ever smiling Sardar, in the commentary box of any cricket match or any laughter show.
