Nepal are all set to play their debut ODI, against Netherlands in August. It is going to be a two-match series, with the match being played on August 1 and August 3 respectively. The Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) announced the venues of the match to be Voorburg CC, just outside The Hague, and the VRA Ground in the Amsterdam suburb of Amstelveen.

Nepal attained ODI status in the World Cup Qualifier 2018 that was held in Zimbabwe. They finished eighth, ahead of Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea. This will also be first ODI for Netherlands since 2014, when they lost their ODI status in 2014 at the World Cup Qualifier in New Zealand. However, they regained their status in the 2015-17 WCL Championship when they finished first place.

“It’s going to be a fantastic series for both countries as it will be our first ODI since regaining our status lost in 2014, it will also be Nepal’s first ODI ever,” said Netherlands coach Ryan Campbell. “These games also present us with another opportunity to expose our youngsters to top quality cricket and I’m excited to keep watching their development.”
