The Nidahas Trophy 2018 T20I tournament between Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh is all set to start March 6. The tournament is being played to celebrate 70 years of Sri Lanka’s Independence. A total of 7 matches will be played with each team facing their opponents twice and a final. According to reports in Daily Observer, Chris Broad has been appointed the match referee for the tournament. Broad so far officiated in 461 international matches – 93 Tests, 294 ODIs and 74 T20Is. The on-field and TV umpires for the tournament will be Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Ranmore Martinez and Ravindra Wimalasiri.

All the matches are scheduled to be played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The opening match will be played between Sri Lanka and India. India have rested Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya for the series. Rohit Sharma will lead the side with Shikhar Dhawan vice-captain.
