Bangladesh received good news ahead of crucial Sri Lanka clash in the Nidahas Trophy 2018. Shakib Al Hasan, who missed the initial leg of the series due to rehabilitation, will join the side having recovered from the finger injury. He will most likely be included in the side as confirmed by a report in cricbuzz. Shakib injured his finger during tri-nation series involving Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh earlier this year.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka both have 1 win from 3 games, and are fighting for a spot in the final on Sunday. India have already qualified having won 3 out of 4 games. A win in this match will set up submit clash with India on Sunday.

“Shakib will join the squad today and we will assess him further to see if he can play in our next game,” selector Habibul Bashar told AFP by phone from Colombo.

“If he is fit enough to play, then someone of his class and calibre we will have to consider. If he is really fit, then I think they have advantage, because he is the world’s number one all-rounder and we all know that he is a quality player,” said Sri Lanka coach Chandika Hathurusingha.

Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka on March 16. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka both are coming off respective losses to India in their last games.
