A Northern Knights spokesperson has denied that Kane Williamson is bowling left-handed and said that it was a throw away line. Radio Sport had stated that Williamson was contemplating bowling left-hand after being suspended by ICC for throwing.

Williamson was suspended from bowling from July last year by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after his action exceeded the 15 degrees bend. “[It] was a throw away line, but he hasn’t been practising bowling left arm in the nets and the closest he’s got to it is bowling left arm in hallway cricket,” The Northern Knights official was quoted by radionz.co.nz.

“You know, I’ll certainly be trying as much as I can,” Williamson told Radio Sport. “Whether that’s trying to do it with the other arm, that would be an interesting process but I’ll certainly be giving it a crack.”

Williamson is currently in India playing for Northern Knights and is having a fluent run with two fifties and a century to his name.
