Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering a proposal to appoint opener Ahmed Shehzad as the new Twenty20 International (T20I) captain following the resignation of Mohammad Hafeez from the position after ICC World T20 2014.
However, The Nation reports that the board officials are divided into two factions for handing over T20’s captaincy to Shehzad due his aggressive on-field and out-field behaviour.
The report mentioned that some officials are pushing for Shehzad’s selection as T20 captain as they believe that his exciting style is suitable for T20 cricket. However, there are others who feel that his short career is full of controversies, the report added.
