After bowling out Zimbabwe for 294, Pakistan openers held fort to take their side to 24 for no-loss in eight overs as the teams took lunch on the second day of the second Test between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.
Resuming on an overnight score of 237 for eight, Zimbabwe managed to add 57 runs to their total. It came through a 46-run stand for the final wicket between Tendai Chatara and Brian Vittori. The partnership was finally broken by Abdur Rahman who trapped Chatara in front of the stumps to end the final pair’s resilience at 294.
When the teams took lunch, Mohammad Hafeez was unbeaten on 22 while Khurram Manzoor only managed a run from 21 deliveries he faced.
Zimbabwe 294 (Hamilton Masakadza 75, Brendon Taylor 51; Junaid Khan 4 for 67) lead Pakistan 24 for no loss (Mohammad Hafeez 22*) by 270 runs.
