After initially banning Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Saeed Ajmal from participating in Australia’s Big Bash Twenty20 League due to domestic commitments and preparations for the Indian tour, Pakistan Cricket Board has revoked the ban.
“We have reconsidered our decision, on the request of Cricket Australia, as the players had already signed their contract,” a PCB spokesman was quoted as saying by DAWN.
With the Big Bash League set to begin from next month, PCB had banned the three Pakistani cricketers from playing in the Australian league as they wanted them to participate in a domestic Twenty20 tournament that would help test players ahead of their much anticipated tour to India. But, on the request of Cricket Australia, PCB has allowed the trio to play in Australia.
In the tournament starting next month, Shahid Afridi will represent Sydney Thunders while Saeed Ajmal will play for Adelaide Strikers and Umar Akmal for the Sydney Sixers.
