The low turn out during the ongoing Pakistan vs Australia Test has caused a bit of concern. The stadium was near-empty, it was estimated that about a thousand people were in attendance on Day 2 of the first Test.

Mitchell Johnson was quoted as saying by cricket australia’s official website “It is a bit disappointing playing in front of no crowds. A little bit different I guess.”

“We would like to have bigger crowds at the games and for guys that are playing their first games, it would have been nice for them to have a bigger crowd. But the whole occasion for them was amazing with family and friends here,” he added.

“But we knew that would be the case there. It is pretty hot and it is hard to sit and watch long hard cricket,” he said. The empty stands were in stark contrast to the  T20 game which drew more than 20,000 people.
