Ross Taylor reached his 12th Test hundred and helped New Zealand’s lead to get past 200 mark against Pakistan in Day five of the second Test at Dubai. In this innings Taylor has shown time and again that he can play shots at his will consistently. Which is why it is such a surprise that he has not done well in Tests in Asia. Taylor’s overall Test record is impressive without being truly great in sub-continent. This innings will now be as one of his great and influential knocks in this part of the World.

To upstage an inform Pakistan on their own conditions, New Zealand will require couple of things to go in their way — enough runs on the board and enough time to all out the opposition. For this McCullum will need to take some gambles. But will he take it?

McCullum’s attitude on Friday will be the most important factor of the game. Having seen his approach during his attacking knock in New Zealand’s second innings on Thursday, it can be predicted that McCullum will go for win. He wants this victory. A quick declaration in the morning and an aggressive display on the field later in the day may be on the cards.
