Pakistan had lost three early wickets courtesy Lasith Malinga in the Asia Cup 2014 final against Sri Lanka. Now, skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and Fawad Alam are eyeing a recovery as they are 37 for three in 12 overs.
Misbah has been their most dependable batsman for sometime and often cuts a lone figure in the middle. This is another situation where he has to fight and hold an end. At the same time, he has to ensure they put up a good score on the board. In the last game Alam had recorded a fifty in crucial circumstances. This is another test for him.
Sachithra Senanayake, the off-spinner and Thisara Perera are now into the attack with the opening bowlers taking a breather. Senanayake was hit for two fours in the 11th over.
