Pakistan bowling coach Mohammad Akram said that he believes even without injured fast bowler Mohammad Irfan, there is enough firepower in the team to get good results in the Asia Cup 2014 and ICC World Twenty20 2014.
According to the Express Tribune, Akram downplayed Irfan’s absence from their South African tour and home series against Sri Lanka saying that although Irfan is their asset they could still win matches without him.
The towering fast-bowler had become a vital part of the Pakistani team and his absence from the upcoming events is being considered as a huge blow for the team.
However, Akram feels otherwise, saying that the team has got a good combination of pace and spin with Umar Gul and Mohammad Talha.
