Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has expressed that Pakistan will come into their ICC World T20 2014 game against India with the confidence of their Asia Cup 2014 victory. When India met Pakistan on March 2 for their Asia Cup game, Shahid Afridi smashed two sixes in the last over to take them to victory.

In his column for Times of India, Gavaskar wrote, “A T20 game changes in the blink of an eye and with Pakistan being a mercurial team, there will not be a moment for India to relax. Pakistan will also be big on confidence after their last over win against India in the just-concluded Asia Cup.”

Gavaskar did maintain that there is a change in format, but the manner of the victory would help Pakistan. He wrote, “That, of course, was in the 50-ver format but the fact that they came from behind to put it across India will give them the belief that they can do it again”

Pakistan will play India in the first game of the Super-10s of the ICC World T20 2014 on March 21.
