Parvinder Awana was punched by a policeman in Noida on Thursday after a heated argument over parking. Head constable Bhagat Singh Yadav, who punched the Indian fast bowler was suspended soon after the incident.

 

Awana said he had parked his car on the side of the road to receive a call. He said it is then that Yadav approached him angrily.

 

“I requested Yadav to allow me to talk and assured him I would drive away. He told me he would issue a challan,” said Awana as reported by the Times of India.

 

“When I pulled down the window, Yadav punched me twice in the middle of my neck.”

 

Awana has played two Twenty20 Internationals for India so far. He will play for the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League 2014.
