PCB awards: Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali, Babar Azam bag top honours
In T20Is, Babar has piled 489 runs at an impressive average of 54.33

The PCB’s annual awards night saw the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Abbas and Hasan Ali walk away with top honours. 28-year-old Abbas received the prestigious laurel of being named Test cricketer of the year, whereas fast bowler Ali and batsman Babar were named the ODI and T20I cricketers of the year repectively.

Ever since his debut last year, Abbas began strong picking up 27 wickets in five Tests at an average of 16.85. Similarly, Ali too has carried Pakistan’s fast bowling department on his shoulder with 26 wickets at an average of 18. In T20Is, Babar has piled 489 runs at an impressive average of 54.33.

Opener Fakhr Zaman, who was the thorn in India’s eye in the final of 2017 Champions Trophy was given the “special award for Outstanding Performance”, having impressed all by becoming the quickest player to 1000 ODI runs.

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the the Imtiaz Ahmed Spirit of Cricket Award. Among the women cricketers, Sana Mir was named the best ODI player.
