Pragyan Ojha left England in a tizzy as his five-wicket haul was instrumental in bundling them out for 191. Spin was built up as a decisive factor in this series and it has played its part in the first Test at Ahmedabad with both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ojha troubling the tourists. At the back of that performance, England have been asked to follow on and would resume their second innings 330 runs behind India.

The partnership with Ashwin has worked wonders for Ojha as he has recorded all his five-wicket hauls in Test cricket while playing alongside the Tamil Nadu off-spinner. This is Ojha’s fourth five wicket haul in Test cricket and it is interesting to note that all of them have come in the last twelve months. Here is a list of Ojha’s fivers:

Ojha accounted for the big wicket of Kevin Pietersen – who doesn’t quite enjoy playing the left-arm spinners. The flamboyant England batsman was foxed in the flight and had his woodwork rearranged. Ian Bell was dismissed off the next delivery as he tried to attack Ojha off his first ball and holed out to Sachin Tendulkar. These two wickets in effect broke the back of the England innings and it was always difficult for them to bounce back from there.
