Peshawar Zalmi bagged a crucial victory as they played Lahore Qalandars in Match 16 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 on Friday. Zalmi put up a decent target of 167 runs for Qalandars to chase. Chasing the runs, batting-heavy Qalandars failed badly as the top order was sent back for almost no contribution. Their innings ended with 149 for 9 on the board which handed Zalmi a 17-run victory. Winning the toss, Zalmi elected to bat. They lost a couple of quick and crucial wickets as Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Hafeez departed early. Kamran Akmal played a vital role behind the victory as he scored 58 off 40 balls, hitting 9 boundaries in the process. Another significant innings came off Shakib Al Hasan’s bat who added 30 runs down the order to push the score to 166 for 6 after their innings.
