Imran Tahir created history in Match 14 of PSL 2018, when he took a hat-trick for Multan Sultans against Quetta Gladiators. This was Tahir’s second hat-trick and third in the history of PSL. Tahir’s hat-trick included wickets of Hasan Khan, John Hastings and Rahat Ali. This was also second of the season; Junaid Khan picked a hat-trick on Match 4. Tahir spoke of his achievement to geo.tv: “It’s my first hat-trick in the subcontinent. I’m very pleased. It’s all [because of a great] team effort. We all respect one another. We understand one another’s roles in the team. Our management is very calm, even at crucial junctures.”

Tahir’s first T20 hat-trick in T20s came playing for Warwickshire against Durham. Multan Sultans are currently second in the PSL points table with 7 points, only behind Karachi Kings on net run-rate.

Rounding off the interview, Tahir thanked South Africa Cricket as well. He said: “Although I grew up playing cricket in Pakistan, I feel proud to play for South Africa. I am forever indebted to South Africa for giving me opportunities and for making my parents’ dream and mine come true.”
