Match 23 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018, Quetta Gladiators took on Peshawar Zalmi at Dubai. In a nail-bitting finish it was Sarfraz Ahmed and Rilee Rossouw that guided Gladiators to victory by 6 wickets, thus helping them take top spot in group standings with 10 points. Chasing 158 to win, Shane Watson led from the front early-on. He scored a 25-ball 37, while being well supported by Kevin Pietersen (21). Soon couple of wickets fell courtesy Liam Dawson and Wahab Riaz.

Rossouw and Sarfraz joined forces and diminished United’s hope of a win. The pair kept on the scoreboard ticking, with Sarfraz doing most of the scoring. He eventually ended up making 45 off 31 balls, inclusive of 6 fours. Rossouw scored a 27-ball 30 as Gladiators reached their target in 19.2 overs.

Batting first, Mohammed Hafeez and Dwayne Smith led Zalmi’s charge. The pair added 61 runs, before Smith fell on 49. Hafeez too departed soon for 31. It was then that Riki Wessels and Darren Sammy steered Zalmi’s ship past rough waters. Both added 56 runs for the sixth as Peshawar’s innings closed on 157 for 5. Shane Watson picked two wickets for Quetta.
