PV Sindhu in Rio Olympics: Virat Kohli congratulates and conveys best wishes ahead of final

As soon as India’s PV Sindhu stormed into the final of women’s singles competition at the Rio Olympics after beating Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in straight sets, social media broke with heaps of praises for the girl. Cricket Fraternity sent across wishes with immediate effect right from Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and others. Kohli congratulated her for winning the silver medal and wished her luck. He also guaranteed that even if she loses, the country is already proud of her.  The immensely talented Hyderabadi girl has done a notch better than her illustrious senior Saina Nehwal, who got country’s its first medal from badminton — a bronze in London 2012. Sindhu had a 1-3 head-to-head record against Okuhara but all that went for a toss as the Indian came out with a well-thought strategy as she engaged the Japanese in long-rallies with her angled returns and deft drops. Meanwhile, in the Caribbean Island Kohli is currently playing the final Test against West Indies after taking the lead by 2-1. With Sri Lanka whitewashing Australia, India have proceeded to the No. 1 spot already. India will now want to grab the spot after sealing the series against West Indies. West Indies ended their day at 62 for 2 after rains interrupted the play.
