Rain interrupts third ODI between Sri Lanka and New Zealand

New Zealand reached 28 for one in nine overs before rain interruped proceedings in their third One-Day International against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Tuesday.
The Kiwis lost their opener Rob Nicol cheaply early on, who was dismissed by Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga for seven.
BJ Watling and Brendon McCullum then joined forces to take New Zealand to 28 for one, before rain arrived.
It was later informed that the play will resume at 4.45 pm local time, and it will be a 48 overs a side match.
Earlier, the toss was won by Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene, who asked New Zealand to bat first.
