While chasing a target of 202 against Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, Delhi Daredevils lost their way early in the innings by losing a slew of wickets. The likes of  Kevin Pietersen, Kedar Jadhav, Ross Taylor, Mayank Agarwal and JP Duminy struggled for timing and consistency. The one batsman who looked in fine touch was Manoj Tiwary. However, rest of the batsmen flopped miserably. For Rajasthan all their bowlers bowled with fine control. Even Ben Cutting the seamer got the ball to seam off the pitch and snared Shahbaz Nadeem’s wicket by cleaning him up. He was followed by Imran Tahir being cleaned by Rajast Bhatia, the medium pacer.

Actually, Pietersen played a laboured stay at the crease and Rajat Bhatia put him out of his misery by dismissing him of an inside edge and crashing on to the stumps.  Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson‘s fluent knocks took Rajasthan to a massive 201 for six against Delhi Daredevils after being put into bat by Kevin Pietersen. As has been the case in IPL 2014, Delhi’s bowling was poor and was not backed by the fielders and have to play out of their skin to chase down the score.
