In the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 7, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)  and Rajasthan Royals (RR) was headed for a comfortable finish with David Miller putting Glenn Maxwell’s strikes to shame.

After Glenn Maxwell’s blitzkrieg of a knock earlier on, Rajasthan wrested advantage back in the 15th over and the required run rate had crept up to over 12 runs an over. Pravin Tambe came in to bowl his final over there and David Miller smashed a huge six down the ground. It was almost a slap which reached over the boundary ropes because of Miller’s power alone. Shane Watson then brought on James Faulkner to bowl the 17th over and Cheteshwar Pujara, much to the surprise of many played a ‘Dilscoop’ for a boundary. Miller tried but couldn’t connect to much of them. With the required run-rate getting precariously huge, the boundaries were cut off thanks to some smart field placings by Shane Watson.

David Miller’s big-hitting prowess came into full action in the eighteenth over of Dhawal Kulkarni with four magnificent, irresistable sixes that put Punjab in sight of victory.

Earlier, Rajasthan amassed a total of 191 for five in their 20 overs after Bailey had sent them into bat. Sanju Samson top-scored with 52 off 34 deliveries. He struck three fours and four sixes. Captain Shane Watson scored 50 off 29 deliveries. He hit five fours and three sixes. The belligerent partnership was worth 74 runs with a run-rate of 10.57.
