Lokesh Rahul, who scored 131 for Karnataka in the first innings, has been named Man of the Match.
Maharashtra captain Rohit Motwani admits that the dropped catches in the final proved to be costly for his side. However, he is happy with the progress that his side has made this season.
There it is! Karun Nair slams a six and a boundary off Chirag Khurana to seal a seven-wicket win for Karnataka! This is their first win since the 1998-99 season, and their seventh overall win.
Karnataka batsmen are not in a hurry to finish this off. They have scored only seven runs in 4.3 overs since tea. They now need 30 more runs to win.
Chirag Khurana takes a sharp return catch to get rid of Amit Verma, who scored a quick 38 off 49 balls, studded with six boundaries and a hit over the fence. Karnataka need 37 runs to win as tea has been taken.

A fantastic season for Karnataka opener Lokesh Rahul comes to an end. The right-handed comes forward to play a delivery that bounced enough to hit the top of the bat and flew to the first slip.
Karnataka need 64 more runs to win.

Maharashtra bowlers are trying really hard to make further inroads into the Karnataka batting line-up. Amit Verma and KL Rahul have so far batted cautiously. They now need another 70 runs to win this summit clash.

Karnataka are at three for no loss at lunch. They need 154 runs to win.
It’s all over. Maharashtra have been bowled out for 366 runs in 91.2 overs. They have set a 157-run target against Karnataka to win the final of the Ranji Trophy 2013-14.

Maharashtra are now eight wickets down as Anupam Sanklecha fell in the 85th over off Abhimanyu Mithun, who grabbed his second wicket in the innings. Maharashtra are now 139 runs ahead in the second essay.

Maharashtra have begun positively on the fifth day morning, as they have added a few quick runs to their total. The second innings lead is of 80 runs now, and they would be eyeing nothing less than 150.

Hello and welcome to the Live Blog of the fifth and final day’s play of the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 final between Karnataka and Maharashtra at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.

Kedar Jadhav continued his glorious form in the Ranji Trophy with a sparkling century as Karnataka maintained their upperhand despite a spirited fightback by Maharashtra, PTI reported.

Karnataka finished their first innings on 515 taking a sizeable 210 run first innings lead. In reply, Maharashtra were 272 for six in their second essay courtesy 112 by Jadhav and his 118-run partnership for the third wicket with Ankit Bawne (61).

Maharashtra now lead by 62 runs with four wickets in hand.

R Vinay Kumar was the most successful Karnataka bowler grabbing four for 84 although he was taken to the task by the Maharashtra batsmen.
