R Vinay Kumar: “Have worked really hard for this. The team has done a great job. It is an amazing unit. We knew we had the team to win the trophy. We enjoyed each other’s success. It’s a superb team effort.”

Lokesh Rahul, who scored 131 for Karnataka in the first innings, has been named Man of the Match.

Maharashtra captain Rohit Motwani admits that the dropped catches in the final proved to be costly for his side. However, he is happy with the progress that his side has made this season.

There it is! Karun Nair slams a six and a boundary off Chirag Khurana to seal a seven-wicket win for Karnataka! This is their first win since the 1998-99 season, and their seventh overall win.

Karnataka batsmen are not in a hurry to finish this off. They have scored only seven runs in 4.3 overs since tea. They now need 30 more runs to win.

Chirag Khurana takes a sharp return catch to get rid of Amit Verma, who scored a quick 38 off 49 balls, studded with six boundaries and a hit over the fence. Karnataka need 37 runs to win as tea has been taken.
OUT! A Verma 38(49)

A fantastic season for Karnataka opener Lokesh Rahul comes to an end. The right-handed comes forward to play a delivery that bounced enough to hit the top of the bat and flew to the first slip.
Karnataka need 64 more runs to win.
OUT! KL Rahul 29(66)

Maharashtra bowlers are trying really hard to make further inroads into the Karnataka batting line-up. Amit Verma and KL Rahul have so far batted cautiously. They now need another 70 runs to win this summit clash.

Robin Uthappa falls after a solid start with Lokesh Rahul. Uthappa tries to sweep Akshay Darekar but the ball hits the gloves and Rohit Motwani takes a simple catch.
OUT! R Uthappa 36(47)

Karnataka need another 116 runs to win with 10 wickets in hand.

Karnataka are at three for no loss at lunch. They need 154 runs to win.

It’s all over. Maharashtra have been bowled out for 366 runs in 91.2 overs. They have set a 157-run target against Karnataka to win the final of the Ranji Trophy 2013-14.
OUT! S Mundhe 42(75)

Maharashtra are now eight wickets down as Anupam Sanklecha fell in the 85th over off Abhimanyu Mithun, who grabbed his second wicket in the innings. Maharashtra are now 139 runs ahead in the second essay.

Anupam Sanklecha and Shrikant Mundhe are adding some crucial runs for Maharashtra now. They are 122 runs ahead in the second innings.

OUT! R Motwani 21(48)

Maharashtra have crossed the 300-run mark in the second innings and their lead is of 93 runs now.

Maharashtra have begun positively on the fifth day morning, as they have added a few quick runs to their total. The second innings lead is of 80 runs now, and they would be eyeing nothing less than 150.
